Woman, 61, arrested for ‘murder’ after man shot with crossbow

A man found dead at a home in Suffolk earlier this week was shot by a crossbow, it has emerged.

Paramedics called police to the scene after finding the man, aged in his 50s, seriously injured at an address in Lordscroft Lane, Haverhill, shortly before 8pm on Tuesday.

He died a short time later and his death was initially treated as unexplained but suspicious.

However, a post-mortem examination later revealed the cause of death to have been a crossbow bolt.

A 61-year-old woman thought to be known to the man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

She has since been released on bail until March 2 pending further inquiries.

A police scene remains in place at the property while the investigation continues.

Photos taken there show police tape stretched across the front of the address.
