Netflix will be rearranging its vast library at the start of the new year, with hundreds of titles coming and going. Among the additions is a short-lived drama series that was canceled by NBC earlier this year.
Found, which debuted on NBC in Oct. 2023 and ran on Tuesday nights, will be coming to Netflix next month. The show was canceled after 35 episodes and two seasons.
When will Found arrive on Netflix?
According to What’s On Netflix, both seasons of Found will debut on the streaming service on Jan. 2, 2026.
It is one of three titles coming to Netflix that day, along with the first seasons of Land of Sin and Your Turn to Kill.
What to know about Found
Found stars Shanola Hampton as Gabrielle “Gabi” Mosely, a public relations specialist and crisis manager who, along with her team, searches for missing people who have been neglected by the system. Mosely was once kidnapped as a teenager, making her career personal.
Other cast members included Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, Karan Oberoi and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who plays the man who kidnapped Hampton’s character years earlier.
Why was Found canceled by NBC?
Found debuted on Oct. 3, 2023 and within six days of its release, became NBC’s top launch on Peacock up to that point. The show received nominations at the Astra TV Awards, Critics’ Choice Television Awards, GLAAD Media Awards and NAACP Image Awards, and Hampton won the 2024 Gracie Award for Actress in a Leading Role – Drama for her performance.
However, amid year-to-year ratings declines, the series was canceled back in May.
“Ultimately, Found became a casualty of NBC’s cutback on entertainment programming to accommodate the 180 primetime hours of basketball next season under NBCUniversal’s $2.5B a year deal with the NBA, which also claimed dramas The Irrational, Suits LA and comedies Night Court and Lopez vs Lopez — all canceled today,” Deadline wrote at the time.
What are Found‘s approval ratings?
Found has a 70% average Tomatometer and 78% average Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes and its first season has an average score of 49 on Metacritic, along with an audience rating of 5.9.
The series also holds an average score of 6.8/10 on IMDB.
