The World’s Tallest Hotel Is Now Welcoming Guests

One of the most impressive architectural projects on planet Earth is now fully complete, and the largest hotel in the world is accepting guests with open arms.

The Ciel Dubai Marina officially opened to guests on November 15, becoming the largest hotel in the world. The structure stands at over 1,236 feet, and provides guests with stunning views of Dubai Marina, the Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Gulf.

The NORR Group of architects based in London designed the hotel, which features 82 floors and a striking glass design.

World’s Tallest Hotel Becomes a Reality

“Today, we proudly announce the opening of Ciel Dubai Marina, the world’s tallest hotel, rising as a beacon in the heart of Dubai Marina,” The First Group said on Instagram, revealing the grand opening of the hotel to the world.

“Ciel is more than a feat of architecture. It is a symbol of innovation, ambition, and belief, proof that true progress happens when vision becomes reality. This landmark stands as a tribute to Dubai’s pioneering spirit and to everyone who believes that the future is built, not imagined.”

Rob Burns, the First Group’s CEO of project development, admitted that the hotel was not initially designed to be as tall as it turned out. Burns told CNN that the team wanted to build something “spectacular,” but that they never imagined they would be building the world’s tallest hotel.

Major Hotels Around the World

Three of the world’s four tallest hotels are in Dubai, and all three were built in 2012 or later. The Ciel Dubai Marina takes the title of the tallest hotel from the Gevora Hotel, which has 528 rooms across 75 floors.

Dubai is also home to the JW Marriott Marquis, which has 82 floors and cost nearly $2 billion to build. It is currently the world’s third tallest hotel, and also the third-tallest in Dubai alone.

The tallest hotel outside of Dubai is Shimao International Plaza in Shanghai. The structure is 60 stories tall, with the upper 48 floors hosting the Conrad Shanghai. The Conrad has over 720 rooms, and the structure also features a nine-floor shopping mall for guests to visit and browse.

The Ciel has over 1000 rooms, and guests can expect to pay between $375 and $545 per night to stay there. According to Gulf News, only 200 of the rooms inside the hotel are unoccupied one month after its grand opening.

The hotel features incredible luxuries and amenities for guests, including three swimming pools.
