Orlando Pirates news: Rulani, Moremi, Kwayiba, Tau – Bundlezy

Orlando Pirates news: Rulani, Moremi, Kwayiba, Tau

Orlando Pirates are reportedly looking to bring back Rulani Mokwena as their head coach next season.

The 38-year-old parted ways with Wydad Casablanca in May and is currently a free agent. With the departure of Jose Riveiro, the Buccaneers are in search of a new coach before their pre-season training resumes.

According to iDiski Times, talks between Mokwena and Pirates have reached an advanced stage, but ‘some finer details still need to be ironed out’.

The publication said that Rulani wanted Michael Loftman as his assistant coach, however Orlando Pirates were keen on keeping Mandla Ncikazi as part of the technical team.

Which players are coming to Orlando Pirates?

The Buccaneers have already released four players since the conclusion of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season. Although they are yet to make any announcement, it is believed that Sinoxolo Kwayiba will be a Bucs player next season.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder did indicate that he would love to leave Chippa United for a big club.

“Let’s hope [that I’ll join a big club], I have been praying and I’m happy with my performance for Bafana Bafana,” Kwayiba said during the COSAFA Cup.

“I want to do more, and I hope the move is going to happen. So I’m hoping to play for a big team and then move overseas. That’s my dream, and it’s going to happen.

“I won’t mention any name of the team for now, but I want to play for one of the big three,” he added.

Another player linked with Orlando Pirates is Tshepang Moremi. The talented winger recently left AmaZulu but the Buccaneers are yet to confirm if they indeed signed the player.

Where will Percy Tau end up?

Tau is now a free agent having left Qatar after a short stint. He did admit that he would like to play for Orlando Pirates or any of the big teams if the right offer comes. With Rulani potentially joining the Buccaneers, maybe Tau might be tempted.
