NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF) – On Sunday, June 22nd, at 5:23 pm the Aiken County Coroner’s Office responded to Lowe’s on Knox Avenue in North Augusta to investigate the death of a West Virginia man following a construction accident.
At 5:04 pm North Augusta Department of Public Safety along with Aiken County Emergency Medical Services responded to the store after 43-year-old Ray C. Straight was involved in the accident.
First responders administered CPR, but Mr. Straight was unable to be revived, and was pronounced deceased on scene at 5:50 pm.
An autopsy will be scheduled in Newberry.
The Coroner’s Office along with the North Augusta Department of Public Safety are continuing with the investigation.
