You might have been on the edge of your seats with Corriedale but Emmerdale is serving up another week of big whammy storylines as we find out what the heck happened to Ray Walters (Joe Absolom).

We know Ray is dead because he showed up in the back of Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) van, but how did he die and who put him there remains the two big questions. A set of flashback episodes will explore this and hang on to your seats, as there are suspects galore.

The episodes will tease his last moments on this Earth and hopefully eventually dish us up the big reveal of who killed him.

Side note – fans have spotted that this whole whodunnit is playing out exactly six years after Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) whodunnit, just as he also makes a return. Make of that what you will!

Sorry, this video isn’t available any more.

There is no shortage of people wanting Ray dead now that the truth is out about the whole people trafficking / slavery / drug dealing thing, but which one of them actually had the kahunas to go through with it and brazenly dump his body in a vehicle which would be used?

The long list of suspects includes the likes of church-goer and former girlfriend Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), and April’s confidante Ross Barton (Mike Parr).

The episode opens in the aftermath of Celia Daniels’ (Jaye Griffiths) death, with Ray standing over the body staring at his handiwork. It’s a heavy silence that fills the room, but it only takes him a moment to do a Taylor Swift and shake it off, before grabbing a red sports bag and making his exit.

As he leaves, he wipes his fingerprints off the knife, but before leaving the farm altogether, he can’t help but pop up to see Bear. He can’t bring himself to look at him, but it’s a poignant moment as he takes a pause to mourn the death of a man he’d seen as a father figure.

At this point in time, April is still missing – having been lured to the woods by Ray to be killed, but instead he had a change of heart and let her leave – and Marlon is ready to kill to find her. He grabs a knife and plans to head off to see Ray. What he doesn’t know is at this point, Ross has looped up with April and knows what’s been going on.

Elsewhere, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) learns the full, agonising truth about what’s happened to Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) and worse, Ray spits at him that Bear is dead. Overcome with the horror of it all, Paddy too is now feeling murderous.

But while he and Marlon are both feeling a sense of out-of-character violence, it’s Ross who’s armed himself with a gun. Will he do what Paddy and Marlon can’t?
