Connor, the EastEnders employee who fell from an 11-storey building, is coming home to the UK after spending weeks in hospital in Colombia.

Connor works as an electrician on the BBC One soap and suffered a devastating incident while abroad over Christmas.

He fell from an 11-storey building, and then spent nine days in a coma and had multiple life-saving surgeries. His mum has said it’s a ‘miracle’ he survived.

Connor’s family have been working hard to raise money in order to cover his medical bills. At the moment, over £32,000 has been donated.

Victoria, who set up the GoFundMe page, has posted regular updates informing people of Connor’s progress.

Last week, she wrote: ’He [Connor] has now been weaned from the sedation and oxygen and is out of ICU. He has been sitting up in bed and is able to eat soft foods. Denise is still with him in Colombia and he is aware of the gofundme and is overwhelmed by everyone’s love and support. He is alert and in good spirits, which is remarkable considering his injuries.

‘He is still waiting on the surgeries that he needs for his fractures. We are liaising with the hospital, to try and get him the care that he needs to be able fly home, but for the time being he remains in hospital in Colombia.’

There’s been another huge update regarding Connor’s situation. Yesterday, Victoria shared on the fundraiser page that he would soon be returning to the UK.

She started her message: ‘We are writing this update with hearts full of gratitude. Thanks to your incredible generosity, love, and support, we were able to raise enough funds for medical repatriation back to UK.’

‘The medics from SkyCare have arrived in Colombia and will be flying back with Connor through the night. He still has a long recovery ahead and will be transferred by ambulance to a hospital in the UK, but he is coming home.’

Victoria added: ‘Thank you all so much; Connor is so happy and thankful to be coming home and we could not have done this without you.’

Connor’s friends and colleagues from EastEnders have donated to the page, including Jake Wood, Scott MaslenJessie Wallace, Diane Parish, Gillian TaylforthEmma Barton, Colin Salmon, and Adam Woodyatt.
