Irene Roberts may have left Summer Bay, but her actress Home and Away legend Lynne McGranger continues to turn heads by unveiling a brand-new style for the New Year.
For over thirty-two years, Lynne delighted our screens as the sensation of Summer Bay. Originally introduced as a villain, Irene first arrived on the show as a violent and abusive alcoholic who had an extremely dysfunctional relationship with her children Nathan (David Dixon), Damian (Matt Doran) and Finlay (Tina Thomsen), who’d been taken from her care.
After hitting bottom, Irene turned her life around, got sober and dedicated her life to becoming a foster parent.
Through major storylines including dating a murderer, battling breast cancer and relapsing into alcoholism, she became the straight-talking, big-hearted ‘Aussie battler’ and matriarch that fans adored.
Then after a life-changing Alzheimer’s diagnosis, Irene made the decision to leave her beloved home to travel the world and departed Summer Bay with a bitter-sweet goodbye.
Now Lynne McGranger’s saying goodbye to her iconic fiery red locks, wowing fans online with a picture of herself rocking gorgeous grey hair with a heartwarming message.
‘Wishing all my lovely friends a wonderful 2026!’ she wrote in the caption.
‘Wow! What a year! So many highlights, so many lovely humans along the way. So many pinch–me moments, so much joy and love in my life. Forever grateful, never taking a single moment for granted.’
‘May 2026 bring you all peace and joy and wisdom and love and just a smidge of excitement and adventure!! With endless love and thanks.’
Fans flocked to their socials to shower Lynn with compliments.
