The social media platform X is down, with thousands of users being greeted with an error message.
Coming amid global outrage over the platform’s AI-powered chatbot generating sexualised images of people, the site crashed at 2.30pm.
When trying to load the X mobile app or on desktop, users are met with a screen reading: ‘Something went wrong. Try reloading.’
Nearly 18,000 people have been affected so far, according to internet disruptor tracker Downdetector.
