Piers Morgan has shared that he is in hospital recovering after a fall that required surgery.
The 60-year-old broadcaster broke the news in typical Piers fashion, posting a selfie from his bed, surrounded by wires and tubes as he gave a thumbs up.
On Instagram, his caption confirmed that he ‘tripped on a small step’ inside a London hotel restaurant.
Quipping that he ‘felt like a sack of spuds’ afterwards, the former Good Morning Britain host revealed he needed a ‘new hip’ and has also fractured ‘the neck of [his] femur’.
Adding a photo of his X-ray, Piers illustrated the nasty break in his thigh bone.
He will now be on crutches for six weeks and will be unable to take any long-haul flights for three months.
‘New Year off to a cracking start!’, he joked.
The Life Stories presenter ended on a light-hearted note, declaring: ‘I blame Donald Trump.’
