A popular chilli sauce is being pulled from shelves across England due to a potentially deadly undeclared allergen.

Fortune Foods Ltd is recalling Laoganma Brand Black Bean Chilli Sauce because it contains peanuts, which are not mentioned on the label.

The brand has garnered a cult following for its crispy chilli oil, but the Black Bean Chilli Sauce has also soared in popularity.

The pack size of 280g with batch code 18232 and a best-before date of March 8, 2026, is being pulled from shelves.

Any customer who purchased the product is urged to return it to the store where they made the purchase for a full refund.

Earlier this month, an urgent recall was issued for Lidl’s Harvest Basket hash browns over fears they could contain metal.

The budget supermarket said the metal could be a choking hazard.

The recall, shared by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), affects 750g packs with a batch code of 5144L and a best-before before of May 2027.

Customers who have bought the hash browns have been told not to eat them.

In another recall, shoppers were asked to stop buying a range of American sweets that should never have been on shop shelves to begin with.

Fruit-flavoured hard candies and gummies by Jolly Rancher, which is owned by chocolate giant Hershey’s, were recalled.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said they contain mineral oil hydrocarbons, which come from raw crude oil and other fossil fuels.
