EastEnders’ Max Branning (Jake Wood) unknowingly walks onto a dangerous path next week when he takes on killer Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness).
After Jasmine was revealed as Zoe Slater’s (Michelle Ryan) long-lost daughter last year, fans later learned that the latest addition to the soap clan was the one who’d bumped off her real dad Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) on Christmas Day.
With Zoe now wrongfully behind bars for Anthony’s murder, guilt has started to eat away at Jasmine, who has put the wheels in motion to skip town with her boyfriend Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier).
There’s one thing standing in her way, however – Oscar’s dad Max.
Having learned of the pair’s secret plan, Tuesday’s episode of the BBC soap saw tensions flare between Max and Jasmine, which culminated in her shocking punters in The Vic by claiming Max had tried to kiss her.
While it doesn’t sound out of character for the notorious lothario to try it on with one of his son’s girlfriends – what with his history with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and all – this time Max is actually innocent.
In scenes to air on the BBC soap next week, Max is more determined than ever to stop Jasmine’s influence over Oscar, unaware that he’s playing a game with a killer.
Fans will see him discover that has been lying about giving a statement to the police that would help Zoe’s case.
Believing he now has the upper hand, Max uses the intel to force Jasmine to stay away from Oscar.
It looks like it will have the desired effect when Oscar later goes looking for Jasmine at The Vic and reveals to her grandmother Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) that they were planning to run away.
However, Max later reveals that he confronted Jasmine over her lie, prompting fury from Oscar.
With Jasmine’s lies now laid bare and her relationship in tatters, what will her next move be – and will this spell danger for Max?
