Taylor Swift had strong words to describe friend Blake Lively’sIt Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni — and recently shared texts show the singer didn’t hold back.
Lively’s deposition, which was shared January 20 as part of the release of unsealed documents pertaining to her ongoing legal fight against Baldoni, 41, contained plenty of references to Swift. Per TMZ, court documents reveal Swift, 36, referred to Baldoni as a “b–ch” ahead of the publication of a New York Times investigation into the alleged smear campaign against Lively, 38, conducted by Baldoni’s team.
“I think this bitch knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin,” Taylor texted Lively. Other messages sent by Swift also indicate she had thoughts about Baldoni’s decision-making process when promoting the film.
“If Justin was strategic, he would be like no Taylor Swift in the trailer because that gives you more power over the film, that’s your ally not his,” she also wrote.
Lively also testified that Swift received a copy of the movie’s script. “I sent Taylor the script on her way to my apartment because Justin was still there, and I asked her to read them,” she explained. “I told her she didn’t have to, I didn’t want her to feel pressure to do that, but I hope that she would.” Swift replied, “I’ll do anything for you!!”
Following the meeting, Lively texted Swift, “You were so epically heroic today. I recapped every moment to Ryan [Reynolds]. I kept remembering stuff — You making s*** up about me and lenses. And referring to yourself as my doll.”
Lively then said of Baldoni, “This clown falling for all of it. But also resisting it. You are the worlds absolute greatest friend ever.”

Elsewhere in her deposition, Lively denied that Swift was present when she confronted Baldoni about changes her husband, Ryan Reynolds, made to the It Ends With Us script. In her deposition, Lively insisted Reynolds, 49, was the only other person present at the meeting.
Per People, Lively testified of the April 2023 meeting: “I raised his conversation with Saladino about my weight and conveyed that it was upsetting to me and that it felt invasive and inappropriate.” She added that Reynolds was “briefly” part of the discussion, and that family friend Hugh Jackman also “stopped by” to pick her husband up for lunch.
“He shook Baldoni’s hand at the door, they exchanged niceties, and Jackman left with Reynolds,” Lively added. “No one but Baldoni, myself, and Reynolds was anywhere in our office during the discussion about Baldoni’s inappropriate inquiries into my weight.”
Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment in December 2024, and their trial is set to begin in March 2026.
