Beloved ‘Great British Bake Off’ Host to Exit Show

She loves boozy desserts, British fashion, and all the lovely sweets baked on the “British Bake Off,” but now Prue Leith is leaving the show. The announcement was posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“Our wonderful Prue has decided to step away from judging Bake Off. From joyful judging to colourful fits to accidental innuendoes, you are simply the best and will be so missed. Please join us in wishing Prue the very best and thanking her for nine brilliant years in the Tent.”

Cooking for Celebs and Rock Stars

Leith served in many roles, including chef, restaurateur, journalist, and cookbook author, in addition to hosting one of the most popular cooking competition shows. Following cooking school, Leith started a catering company, hosting wonderful parties and events for London’s upper crust. She soon opened her first restaurant, “Leith” in the Notting Hill neighborhood of London, which garnered her three Michelin stars, feeding foodies and the famous, including The Beatles.

When she’s not cooking, teaching, or serving in many volunteer roles, Leith writes. She has published twelve cookbooks, seven novels, and a biography, “Relish: My Life on a Plate.”

The intimidating blue-eyed Paul Hollywood remains as host, daring bakers to make something worthy of his handshake, while Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond present and add hilarious commentary, cracking up the competitors and breaking the tension.
