Brooklyn Beckham’s estrangement from his parents has gone further than fans realise revealed insider after his bombshell statement.

The 26-year-old confirmed speculation of a feud in a shocking Instagram statement, saying he had no plans to ‘reconcile’ with Sir David Beckham, 50, and Victoria Beckham, 51.

He detailed alleged events at their wedding, claiming his wife Nicola Peltz, 31, has been ‘consistently disrespected’ by his relatives.

The couple renewed their wedding vows in August 2025 without Brooklyn’s family in attendance, which he’s claimed was to ‘create new memories’ after the ‘embarrassment’ of the first ceremony.

Now, an insider has confirmed that ‘mum and dad’ are completely out of the picture, with Brooklyn solely referring to his parents ‘by their first names.

‘He doesn’t think estrangement is a bad thing at all,’ they told the Daily Mail. ‘He sees it as him setting boundaries, taking care of himself, watching out for his own mental health. I know he knows it hurts them, but I don’t think he really cares right about now.’

Brooklyn Beckham celebrated his wife Nicola Peltz at her pink ballerina-themed birthday party this weekend - after reportedly declaring his relationship with his estranged parents is over amid the family feud. The aspiring chef, 26, recently told friends his relationship with his parents was 'over,' following months of strain that culminated in David, 50, and Victoria, 51, being blocked on Instagram. While the Beckhams spent New Year's Eve at their Cotswolds home, Brooklyn and Nicola rang in 2026 partying in South Florida. Despite David sharing nostalgic family photos online this week - including a throwback image of Brooklyn as a teenager - insiders claimed the gesture failed to heal the rift. And after the New Year celebrations Nicola was celebrating ahead of turning 31 next week with a pink themed birthday party. She took to her Instagram Story to share snaps of a huge ballerina cake as she spent time with her friends and family. Nicola was seen sharing a sweet hug with her father Nelson as she looked stylish in a pink top and jeans. She also shared snaps of pink and white balloons decorating the house and her holding hands with Brooklyn as she cut her cake. The beauty also shared a quote that simply read: 'lucky' as she reflected on the happy day. The party comes after Nicola publicly praised her husband Brooklyn saying she was 'so grateful' for him, after reports claimed he had declared his relationship with his parents was 'over.' The actress and billionaire heiress, 30, shared a pointed New Year message on social media as the Beckham family feud continued to rumble on. In a heartfelt Instagram Story, Nicola posted images of the people closest to her and wrote: 'So grateful to start the New Year with these beautiful humans.'

Another source shared how Nicola helped him construct his statement, supporting his decisions but not ‘controlling’ the narrative as some have accused.

‘She didn’t tell him to do it,’ they said. ‘He decided to. So, you really can’t blame her. This was something between him and them, and he decided it was time to take the nuclear option.’

His statement certainly was a ‘nuclear option’, met with a deafening silence from his mum, who took to Instagram to celebrate Emma Bunton’s birthday.

Meanwhile, Sir David appeared on CNBC’s financial program Squawk Box, speaking about the ‘power of social media’.

He said he had ‘tried to educate’ his kids but ‘children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn.’

Other celebrities weren’t so quiet about the drama with stars like Vogue Williams, Lily Allen and David Baddiel all weighing in.

The feud has been in the public eye for over a year now, with plenty of missed family events fueling the speculation.

Brooklyn Beckham’s explosive statement in full

I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

‘I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.

‘For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.

‘My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress. Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children. They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.

‘During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me “evil” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

‘The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family”. Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

‘Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.

‘My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

‘She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone, I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.

‘My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.

‘Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.

‘When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.

‘My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family “love” is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations. We’ve gone out of our way to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show our “perfect family”. But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.

‘The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards, I have been controlled by my parents for most my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.

‘My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation. All we want [is] peace, privacy, and happiness for us and our future family.’

However, the actual fracture point appears to have been the Beckham-Peltz wedding in April 2022, which was a lavish event in Palm Beach rumoured to have cost millions.

The celebrations lasted three days with 500 guests in attendance — including both the Beckham and the Peltz families, Gordon Ramsay and his family, and members of The Spice Girls.

Nicola, who is the daughter of American billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, was supposedly set to wear a dress designed by Victoria but the gown never materialised.

Addressing his upset over the big day, Brooklyn said on January 19 in his scathing statement: ‘My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.

‘My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour, despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.’

He also made a bizarre statement about Victoria ‘hijacking’ his first dance with Nicola, where she ‘danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone’.

The Beckhams are yet to respond to their sons’ claims directly, with Sir David avoiding questioning by press while at a recent event.

As he posed with bystanders for pictures at the World Economic Forum, Sky News asked him: ‘David, do you have a message for Brooklyn this morning?’

Subsequently, the footballer made a beeline for the exit, clearly unwilling to answer questions about the news.
