This week’s global Netflix top 10 chart has one clear runaway hit at the top, driven by a star-powered relationship that a lot of viewers can’t stop binge-watching. Lower down the rankings, familiar sci-fi comfort viewing still dominates, with multiple seasons of the same long-running fantasy juggernaut clogging up the list yet again (you know the one). Still, there’s variety here too, from glossy British mysteries to Korean romance and high-tension thrillers. Love it or roll your eyes at the same ol’ show, these are the shows people are watching right now. And there are plenty of brand new diamonds to find in the vast mine of streaming TV… (Picture: Netflix)

It might be somewhat tedious seeing Stranger Things in so many places in the charts here again, but there’s a fair reason these older series’ still pulls views. This is the original 1980-set mystery that introduced Eleven, the Upside Down and Hawkins’ weirdest gang of kids. Winona Ryder and David Harbour anchor the cast as a small town descends into supernatural chaos while a group of schoolfriends searches for their missing pal. As with all the other runs here in the top 10, viewers are streaming older series’ in order to refresh their minds before settling down to enjoy the fifth and final season. (Picture: Netflix)

Season three leans into summer vibes in Hawkins with the gang reunited around a new shopping mall and a deeper evil hanging over their town. There’s more humour here, more heartbreak and the creeping return of something deadly from the Upside Down. Its blockbuster pace and 80s soundtrack flicker between fun and genuine chills, which might explain why people keep rewatching it. That and the season five build-up too, of course. 7. Stranger Things: Season 4 – 3,100,000 views

This again…! If you want full-on horror, season four delivers it in spades. Splitting set pieces between Hawkins, California and even Russia, this extended block of episodes introduces Vecna, one of the show’s most unsettling villains yet. Sadie Sink’s Max becomes central to the piece as friendships fray and supernatural stakes climb. (Picture: Netflix)

6. Can This Love Be Translated? – 4,000,000 views

This currently rather popular South Korean romantic comedy-drama stars Kim Seon-ho as a gifted interpreter who can speak a whole host of languages but struggles with the language of love (the poor chap). While Go Youn-jung is the rising star actress he winds up accompanying around the world. Filming spans Korea, Japan, Italy and Canada and its mix of cross-cultural humour, earnest chemistry and charming leads has made it a hit for international audiences wanting something light but still heartfelt. 5. Stranger Things: Season 5 – 5,100,000 views

Last mention of Stranger Things. Promise. This final season is already one of the most watched offerings on the platform. It’s the culmination of years of storytelling, where old mysteries get answers and any sense of innocence has long since faded. While some viewers are thrilled to see the climax of this sprawling saga, others are a bit weary of how much space the show still takes up on the charts. Either way, this season’s emotional punches land hard. Even if the conclusion was not without its controversies… (Picture: Netflix)

4. Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web – 5,400,000 views

This hit Hindi crime drama weaves a gritty tale of contraband, corruption and moral quandaries seen through the eyes of a conflicted and compromised anti-hero. It pulls few punches with its depiction of Indian smuggling networks and shadowy alliances. This Mumbai Airport-set thriller, created by Neeraj Pandey and starring Emraan Hashmi, is tense, stylish, addictive and winning fans across the globe right now. (Picture: Netflix)

3. Run Away – 6,100,000 views

This schlocky mystery-thriller stars James Nesbitt alongside Minnie Driver and tells the complex and twisty story of a missing girl. Another Netflix series adapted from a Harlan Coben novel, the series follows a couple whose comfortable life begins to unravel after one shocking incident sets paranoia and suspicion spiralling. It’s daft, but a fun binge-watch. (Picture: Netflix)

2. Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials – 9,900,000 views

Agatha Christie's Seven Dials (Picture: Netflix)
Netflix’s adaptation of Christie’s classic 1929 murder-solving yarn The Seven Dials Mystery feels like cosy and lightweight Sunday night TV but it’s got some serious acting talent attached to it. Set on a grand English estate in the 1920s, it follows Lady Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent as she untangles a web of secrets after a social party turns deadly. The cast includes familiar faces like Mia McKenna-Bruce, Martin Freeman and Helena Bonham Carter, with the period detail and clever plotting make this a pure whodunit treat for fans of classic mysteries. It’s proving quite the success too, holding the global #2 position this week. (Picture: Netflix)

1. His & Hers – 29,500,000 views

Topping the charts this past week for a second week running is a very watchable six-part thriller adapted from Alice Feeney’s novel of the same name. Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal play a divorced couple drawn back to each other when a murder in their Georgia hometown forces them to dig into old wounds and new lies. With Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) in the supporting cast, the series balances slow-burn suspense with well-drawn character work. Its title might make His & Hers sound quaint and low-key, but the story inside twists and turns enough to keep everyone fraught ’til the final moments of the last episode. And it’s closing in on 50 million views since release. (Picture: Netflix)
