WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event returns this weekend for the first live special of 2026.
The wrestling giant first brought back the iconic 1980s event in December 2024 for a series of regular specials, and as ever, UK fans won’t find the show on Netflix.
Although the global streamer is the official home of WWE in the UK, these events work a little differently outside the US, and they’re actually available for free on YouTube.
This weekend is shaping up to be a significant and exciting event, with a championship clash, a bitter grudge match, and a battle to determine the first challenger for Drew McIntyre’s WWE Championship.
It’s also the final big stop before next week’s Royal Rumble, but WWE has found a way to make sure the show will stand on its own two feet.
Before then, here’s everything you need to know about tomorrow’s huge event.
When is WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2025?
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event airs tomorrow (January 24).
The special TV event will start at 1am for fans in the UK.
How can you watch WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event?
As with the other Saturday Night’s Main Event specials, UK fans can stream the show either live or on demand for free via YouTube.
To watch, you can simply click the link above, or watch live right here on Metro at the top of this page.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event match card
- #1 Contenders Match for WWE Title: Randy Orton vs. Trick Williams vs. Damian Priest vs. Sami Zayn
- Women’s Tag Titles: Rhiyo (c) vs. The Judgment Day
- Cody Rhodes vs. Jacob Fatu
Why isn’t Saturday Night’s Main Event on Netflix?
Ever since WWE joined Netflix at start of 2025, we’ve have been able to stream Raw, SmackDown and NXT live every single week as part of our Netflix subscriptions.
As well as the weekly shows, fans also get regular monthly premium live events like Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania, all at no extra cost.
However, in the US Saturday Night’s Main Event is a special via Peacock, and the rights situation means they get broadcast on YouTube internationally instead.
Who should face Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship?
Metro’s WWE expert Alistair McGeorge weighs in on the current WWE Championship picture.
Drew McIntyre is the man on top of SmackDown right now after dethroning Cody Rhodes to become WWE Champion.
As someone who’s been watching the Scottish Warrior for almost two decades – and interviewing him countless times since his TNA Wrestling days – it’s great to see him where he belongs.
Who should be Drew McIntyre’s first WWE Title challenger?
-
Randy Orton
-
Damian Priest
-
Trick Williams
-
Sami Zayn
Of course, the next step is wondering who will step up to face him at the Royal Rumble, which is a match Drew needs to win to avoid losing all momentum.
Randy Orton is a strong choice for someone who feels bullet proof as a future Hall of Famer, and would give the champ a convincing challenger to overcome, setting the tone for his reign.
We’ve seen Drew and Damian Priest lock horns before, and it’s not a bout fans are clamouring for right now, while it feels too soon for Sami Zayn.
The beloved underdog feels like he’s building to finally becoming world champ, but rather than coming up short here, it’d mean more to see him battling in the Rumble itself.
That brings us to former TNA and NXT Champion Trick Williams, who has instantly been positioned as a major player on the main roster, and treated like a top star by fans.
It’s not the time for him to become world champ, of course, but a strong showing against Drew would be a masterstroke to give Trick more legitimacy as he works his way up.
