In a world of constant change it’s nice to know that some things still remain funny – despite how immature they may be.

For whatever reason, humans continue to find it hilarious when there is an embarrassing blunder on live TV.

From the moment a BBC presenter was called ‘Channel Islands’ to a newsreader realising she was still on air after relaxing with a ‘big stretch’ – there appear to be countless examples of funny mishaps.

Earlier this month, fans were left in tears of laughter after a man was seen scuttling in the background of a TV interview.

This time around, however, eagle-eyed observers have spotted a hooded man gyrating and thrusting while a news reporter speaks live on air.

Providing an update, BBC Scotland health correspondent Lisa Summers can be seen speaking from the centre of Edinburgh city.

But, as she begins to discuss the changing position of the health board on infections, a mystery figure lurks in the background with his face covered.

Sharing the clip on social media, TV critic Scott Bryan rather simply commented ‘You’re watching BBC Scotland’ on X.

Responding beneath, several people shared the clip, adding laughing emojis to the post.

@imnotbabby pointed out: ‘I like how he got embarrassed to stop when people started walking by, but not to hump for the live news audience.’

Meanwhile, Helen Clarke claimed that there was another ‘similar incident’ on BBC Scotland the night before.

In 2023, another BBC broadcaster was plagued by a hilarious error when introducing the nightly bulletin.

Gareth Barlow, who first joined the BBC in 2014 as a reporter for Countryfile, gave viewers a memorable introduction to the show.

‘Hello,’ he began, and everything appeared to be fine. But then: ‘I’m watching– I’m watching BBC News? I’m Gareth Barlow. You’re watching BBC News.’

The clip was then shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Gareth himself, who was able to poke some fun at himself, joking with his followers on the social media site.
