Videos have emerged on social media that show staff at an Air India-owned company partying days after the devastating plane crash, and they have now released a statement.
One of their Boeing 787 Dreamliners took off from the city of Ahmedabad as normal on 12th June but crashed seconds after takeoff, killing 241 people on board and 34 on the ground.
In the videos, Air India staff can be seen partying at Air India SATS’ Gurugram office on June 20, just eight days after the tragic incident took place.
Air India SATS (Airport Services Private Limited) is a joint venture between Air India Limited and Singapore-owned SATS Limited, which provides airport ground handling and cargo services in India.

The shocking clips show the staff, including the SVP Sampreet Kotian and COO Abraham Zakaria, singing, dancing and jumping around an office while music blares in the background.
In a statement to the Indian news agency IANS, the company claimed the video has been taken out of context and issued an apology.
“AISATS is aware of a video being circulated on social media that unfortunately is completely out of context,” they said. “Notwithstanding, we sincerely regret any emotional discomfort this may have caused.”
People are outraged on social media, with one person writing: “Shameful and heartless, something is wrong with humanity.”

“Unbelievable! Just days after the deadly Ahmedabad plane crash, where passengers lost their lives . Air India staff seen partying, dancing, celebrating like nothing happened. This is not ignorance, it’s an INSULT to the dead,” said another.
A third person added: “Air India, you should be ashamed of yourselves.”
The cause of the crash is still being investigated, but there has just been a major breakthrough as information from the black boxes has now been recovered, so we are one step closer to finding out what happened.
