An Iranian official has warned any attack from the US will lead to ‘all-out war’ as Donald Trump sends an ‘armada’ to the country.
The US President said he would send help to Iranian protesters almost two weeks ago as thousands have been killed by the regime during demonstrations.
He said on Thursday the US were sending an ‘armada’ to Iran, warning the government against killing more protesters and restarting its nuclear programme.
The Iranian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters: ‘This time we will treat any attack – limited, unlimited, surgical, kinetic, whatever they call it – as an all-out war against us, and we will respond in the hardest way possible to settle this.
‘If the Americans violate Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, we will respond.
‘This military build-up – we hope it is not intended for real confrontation – but our military is ready for the worst-case scenario. This is why everything is on high alert in Iran.’
Tensions between Washington and Tehran have soared over the Islamic Republic’s bloody crackdown on nationwide anti-regime demonstrations.
Iran issued a chilling threat to President Trump live on state TV, declaring ‘this time, the bullet won’t miss’ with footage of the failed assassination attempt against him in 2024
