Dog of the week: Pickle
Meet Pickle!
Pickle is a 10-month-old chocolate and white kelpie mix who loves children and other dogs.
He’s very friendly and playful, and enjoys balls and other toys.
Pickle came into care because his family wanted him to have a more active home.
As a young dog, he will need some training but his food motivation will help with that.
He is house-trained, knows basic commands and is learning to walk on a lead.

He is an inside and outside dog.
Pickle has met chickens but not roaming chickens.
He’s shown no interest in chasing the resident pet lizard, nor has he chased his foster family’s livestock, although he is interested in them.
Pickle’s ideal home will be an active one, with another dog who can help him learn.

Cat of the week: Yoki
Meet Yoki!
Beautiful, green-eyed, pure white Yoki can be a little shy at first, but she soon begins to show how much she loves people and other cats.
At about three years old, Yoki is a lovely, calm, good-natured girl who enjoys a chat, and adores being stroked and having a back rub.
Yoki came to the Animal Welfare League from the local council pound.
She had been found in the bush, emaciated and pregnant.

Yoki has done amazingly well in care, giving birth to four lovely kittens, and showing what a sweet and affectionate girl she is.
Yoki is very social and is likely to do best in a home with another cat or possibly a small, cat-savvy dog.
