Dining alfresco, luxury homes and lush parks – step inside the massive new town set to be built across London within the next thirty years.
The new development, called Old Oak, will introduce green walkways and the capital’s biggest ever train station, ‘revolutionising’ the car parks and industrial units of Brent, Ealing, and Hammersmith and Fulham by 2055.
With London’s population expected to hit 10million by 2035, planners hope to create 25,000 new homes and 56,000 new jobs.
Old Oak will offer new residents four hectares of open space and keep the Grand Union Canal running through the middle.
The group behind the development, Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation, have now unveiled sketches of modern buildings and wide, open streets with plenty of room for cycle lanes and trees.

Brand new Old Oak Common Station, serving the Elizabeth Line, Heathrow Express and National Rail, will serve the new town.
Developers claim it will be the largest train station ever built in the UK with 250,000 passengers travelling through every day.
It is understood that no homes will be demolished to make way for the new flats.

Ealing Council wants at least half of the new homes to be ‘affordable’ and 1,000 to be council homes for social rent.
This will help to ease Ealing Council’s 8,000 household wait list for a socially rented home, as of September 2024.
The council framework for the area also emphasises well-paid, good jobs in high-growth sectors.
Council Leader, Peter Mason said: ‘The new town being built at Old Oak will deliver much-needed new homes and jobs, as well as parks, for the borough.
‘This framework sets out our ambition to ensure that everyone who already lives or works here can benefit from them.

‘While OPDC is the local planning authority and regeneration agency for the area, Ealing Council remains the custodian of the communities, residents, and businesses within it.
‘We are committed to further deepening our strong working relationship with OPDC to ensure that Old Oak offers meaningful, long-term opportunities for all our residents and businesses.’
