Love Island 2025 bombshell Giorgio has casually the biggest claim to fame of anyone in the villa, as his sister is Alessia Russo. Almost every year there’s someone with huge celeb connections, and it looks like we’ve just found them.
We’ve well established that this year the Islander cast already knew loads of former Love Island stars, but this is a step beyond that. So here’s everything we know about Giorgio, and his relationship with his sister.

(@giorgiorusso__)Giorgio is an account manager from Maidstone, and he’s 30. He currently lives in Sydney, and spent the last few months travelling around south east Asia. Ahead of going on Love Island, he said: “I like girls with a good personality, family-oriented and fun to be around. Someone that doesn’t take life too seriously.”
His sister is 26-year-old Arsenal Women’s and Lioness forward, Alessia Russo. They are clearly very close, sharing loads of pictures together on Instagram. Ahead of the villa, he shared: “She’s really excited, she watches every year and reckons I can do well, so she’s excited to see how I get on.”
In a cute post showing just how close they are, Giorgio congratulated Alessia when she won the Champions League with Arsenal. “Turns out being related to a Champions League winner doesn’t make me any better at football… but it does make me insanely proud,” he said. “Congratulations, you make me prouder and prouder to be your big brother every day.”
Alessia and Giorgio also have an older brother called Luca. Luca is a football agent for FIFA, and is Vice-President of Women’s Football Europe. The family has Italian heritage. According to Daily Star, their Sicilian grandfather moved to England in the 1950s.

Speaking about his future partner, Giorgio said his family influence would play a huge part in the type of person he looks for. “My sister plays pro football, so being interested in sport — they don’t have to know football or understand it, but if they can show some sort of interest — because it is such a prominent thing in our family,” he said.
“It would be hard if they hated it. Other green flags are having a nice family — I’m sick of being the seventh wheel in my own family!”

Nobody was expecting anything less, but Alessia is excited to see her brohter in the villa. She told BBC Sport: “He was so excited and I just want my family to be happy and I know it’s an experience that you don’t often get in your life so we’re all watching as a team, which is nice. Everyone’s invested and wants him to do really well but it’s a nice bit of entertainment for us of an evening to get together and watch as a team.”
