It’s been confirmed that coach Rassie Erasmus was forced to make a late change to his Springbok team on Friday, following the withdrawal of Siya Kolisi.
Thankfully, it has been described as just a ‘niggle’, and it’s hoped that this won’t affect Kolisi’s availability for the Test season that gets under way in July.
Jesse Kriel will now lead the Springboks on Saturday, while Marco van Staden has been drafted straight into the starting lineup as a replacement for Kolisi and will partner up with Vincent Tshituka and Jean-Luc du Preez in the loose trio, with the rest of the squad remaining unchanged.
This will be the first time Kriel will lead the Springboks. He made his debut for South Africa in 2015 has played in 79 Tests.
The match kicks off at 17:10 and will be broadcast live on SuperSport.
