Jessie J has issued some clarification after seemingly declaring to be free from breast cancer after undergoing surgery this week.

Earlier this month, the 37-year-old singer, best known for hits including Price Tag, Domino, and Bang Bang, explained she was about to ‘disappear’ for a bit after being diagnosed with cancer.

Jessie – real name Jessica Ellen Cornish – shared she was set to have surgery after performing at Capital’s Summertime Ball, which was held on June 15.

A few weeks on, she’s now said the surgery was a success.

In a post this afternoon, the pop star wrote a list of ‘pros’ on Instagram: ‘Cancer is all gone. My nipple is where it used to be, I can watch Love Island with no guilt. I am getting to rest and talk to friends more than ever.’

She went on: ‘My mum lives with us. Sky just being Sky. Chanan making me feel safe and the messages are 10/10.

‘Connecting with other people who are going through a similar time and being able to support each other. Lot of other things…’

However, she then posted a list of ‘cons’, which included ‘not being the mum [she’s] used to being and picking Sky up’ and ‘the pain and discomfort when trying to sleep’.

Later on, however, Jessie was forced to explain further after receiving an influx of messages about being ‘cancer-free’.

She wrote on her Story: ‘I’m getting a lot of messages saying so happy all the cancer has gone. To be clear I added the [fingers crossed] emoji as it’s a hope not a fact.

‘I only had my surgery 4 days ago. I was just saying the pros of surgery and this situation and being positive.’

She added that she will get her results ‘soon’.

‘And hopefully I can post that as a fact’, Jessie continued. ‘But for now I don’t know. But I will stay positive and talk what I want into the universe’.

When performing at the Capital event, Jessie told fans: ‘Today, this show is my last show before I go and beat breast cancer.’

A few days ago, Jessie shared a series of photos from hospital, including with her partner, Chanan Colman, and their young boy, Sky.

Adding a warning to fans about the content in the post, the caption read: ‘‼️Blood warning‼️This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours.

She added that she was back at home now before going on to crack a joke: ‘I am home now, to rest and wait for my results 🤞🏻 Chanan is in a nurse outfit. No no, he isn’t, but funny to imagine.

‘Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!’

The star announced the news of her cancer diagnosis on June 4 after learning about the disease just before the release of her song No Secrets in April.

‘Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,’ she explained.

‘I’m highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I’m holding on to the word early.’

She added that she wanted to share her experience to help others: ‘I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories.

‘I’m an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much. Similar and worse.’

She also joked at the time: ‘I’m getting to keep my nipples … that’s good. It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job!’
