A woman was found dead inside her home along with more than 80 sickly dogs that had been neglected.

The 73-year-old woman was discovered in her home in the Mill Basin neighborhood of Brooklyn by police responding to a call reporting that one of the two sisters living there was dead.

Officers found the woman unconscious and unresponsive on the floor and emergency responders pronounced her dead.

They also found dozens of small dogs living in horrific conditions inside the home on East 66th Street.

One of the dogs was giving birth when animal rescuers arrived, according to the Animal Care Centers of NYC, which removed all the pups along with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

Many of the dogs were pictured with matted hair.

Neighbor said they had called police about the home multiple times and that officers used a ladder to peer inside.

‘They took photos, they said I see dead dogs by the staircase. I see maybe 40 dogs, 50 dogs, I see puppies everywhere,’ neighbor Adam Greenberg told WABC.

Another neighbor said that officers were not let in.

‘They said they had no probable cause. And they were not able to kick the door in or anything like that.’
