The Traitors victor Rachel Duffy has returned to social media with a poignant tribute to her late mother, who died last week.

The reality star, 43, fondly spoke of her mum during her time on the BBC series, sharing that her plan for the £47,875 prize pot was to make special memories with her since she had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

Days after her season four win, alongside fellow Traitor Stephen Libby, was aired on TV, however, the mother-of-three took to Instagram to share the ‘heartbreaking’ news that her ‘beautiful wee mummy’ had died.

Now, the Northern Ireland resident has penned a heartfelt message on her Instagram, remembering her mum’s legacy.

She wrote: ‘Thank you for loving us so much. Thank you for teaching us our worth. Thank you for so much kindness shown and taught. Thank you for endless laughs and lots of fun.

‘Thank you for helping us parent our babies. Thank you for being a shoulder to cry on when we needed one. Thank you for the many words of wisdom over the years. Thank you for showing us the true meaning of integrity.’

Rachel concluded the sweet tribute by thanking her mum for a ‘beautiful life,’ a ‘lifetime of memories’ and simply ‘being our mummy’.

Her Traitors co-stars have shared their support in the comments.

‘Although I never met her I know how much of an incredible woman your mother must have been to have you and your siblings turn out the way you have, a truly beautiful family,’ Stephen wrote.

Jade said: ‘Sending you all my love and keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Your mama would be so proud of the woman you are.’

‘Just know how proud your mam is of you and the mother you are to your kids,’ Faraaz penned, while Matty and Roxy both shared their ‘love’ to Rachel and her family.

Traitors host Claudia Winkleman also posted three heart emojis.

Alongside the Country Down native’s caption, she shared a series of photographs with her mum, including one with all her children, selfies, special moments on holiday and parties celebrating her family’s achievements.

The Traitors season four aired throughout January, and earlier this month Rachel shared how excited her mum had been to see her as a Traitor on the show.

Posting an image of her holding a personalised t-shirt which read: ‘My daughter’s a traitor’, she shared that everything she had done for her family was ‘nothing short of incredible’.

After her win, Rachel had shared with Metro that she had told the family and was starting to make plans for how to use the money.

‘She said: ‘My first plan is just going to be sitting with my family and asking them, “What can we do?”

‘I told my mum this morning, and it was the nicest thing, so the first thing will be to treat her and the kids.’
