Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) prepares to pop the question to Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) in upcoming Hollyoaks scenes, determined to look to the future with the man he wants to be with.
Rex, as viewers know, is struggling in the wake of Grace Black’s (Tamara Wall) demise and, picking up on his emotions, Froggy (John Middleton) decides that they should scatter her ashes on the day in question.
Before they set off, however, Ste decides to seize the day as he gets down on one knee and asks Rex to marry him! The question is: just what will Rex’s answer be?
The jury is still out, so to speak, and emotional scenes follow as Froggy and Rex head off to a clifftop overlooking the sea.
Together, they discuss their memories of Grace before preparing to scatter her ashes.
Froggy speculates whether or not Rex will say yes to Ste’s big question – and advises that secrets aren’t always a bad thing.
But just what is he referring to? And will such advice impact Rex’s choice?
New scandal for Mercedes
Elsewhere, Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) fights the chemistry between her and Jake – aka Jenson (Ryan Clayton) – at the rehab facility.
Nikki Shadwick (Suzanne Collins) advises Merce to make things work with Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) but ‘Jake’ swoops in to offer support when she opens up at group therapy about loss – and her fears of being sober.
Back in the village, Gemma Johnston (Tisha Merry) apologises to Warren for causing him and Mercedes to break up but it’s clear that she’s still holding a candle. Mercedes, meanwhile, invites Warren to couple’s therapy tomorrow.
Warren, however, fails to attend. ‘Jake’ finds Mercy upset in the aftermath and things proceed to get steamy between the two. The pair make out – until they hear a ruckus… but just what exactly have they heard?

Criminal capers – as the culprit confirmed
Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) reveals to Theresa (Jorgie Porter) that he’s working on a new case – the armed robbery of a confectionary shop. Later, Dodger is left reeling when he uncovers who is behind the crime – and he subsequently arrives on the McQueen’s doorstep with police colleagues, sending Prince (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) and John Paul (James Sutton) into a panic.
But just who is he there to arrest?
Rex and Ro
Ro Hutchinson (Leo Cole) wants to be a mechanic, sharing such a decision with Diane (Alex Fletcher), who isn’t pleased. He doesn’t want to go to uni and Ant (Brook Debio) confirms he’ll talk to Di for him.
Later, Ro takes matters into his own hands, asking Rex for a job but Diane isn’t happy when she finds him at the garage after bunking school!
As Metro confirmed earlier this week, this development marks the beginning of an unlikely friendship between Ro and Rex as part of the latter’s upcoming new storyline.
Elsewhere…
But wait there is more!
After being offered Grace’s inheritance money, Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) and Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) are thinking about their futures.
Vicky is determined to buy the salon and start her own business as a beautician. Gemma offers to help while a patient at Dee Valley named Miles eyes up Vicky and gives her his card, revealing he’s a talent scout.
Dillon and Frankie (Isabelle Smith), however, have their doubts.
Speaking of Dillon, the young lad has invested in Donny Clark’s (Louis Emerick) new pizza business – and he worries what Misbah Malik (Harvey Verdi) will make of such a thing.
Tinhead (Phillip Oliver), meanwhile, makes a confession to Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart).
