Here’s how much petrol cost on this day in 2025

South Africa’s motorists will enjoy some relief at the pumps from Wednesday, 4 February after the Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced welcome fuel price decreases.

According to the department, petrol prices will drop by 65 cents per litre, while diesel prices will decrease by between 50 and 57 cents per litre, depending on the grade.

But how does the new price of petrol per litre differ from what motorists paid – both inland and at the coast – 12 months ago?
