EastEnders has a tough watch lined up next week as things take a frightening turn for one Walford favourite, with a sudden health scare sending shockwaves through their family.
It all starts fairly innocently, with Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) hitting a small milestone as Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) offers to give him his first-ever driving lesson.
Ravi tries to play it cool, but it doesn’t take long for him to sense something’s off. During the lesson, Nugget suddenly zones out, leaving Ravi uneasy, though at the time, he can’t quite put his finger on why.
Putting his worries to one side, Ravi later meets Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to give an update on his secret work as a police informant.
He mentions he’s meeting a new contact, only to be thrown when he realises that the contact is Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple). Already feeling on edge, Ravi is left rattled by Mark’s pointed questions and the sense that he’s being carefully sized up.
After the job’s done, Ravi heads home with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) and Nugget, taking a moment in the car to breathe and reset. But the calm doesn’t last. Out of nowhere, Nugget suddenly has a seizure while they’re still parked up, leaving both Ravi and Priya in sheer panic as it becomes clear this is something far more serious.
Nugget is rushed straight to the hospital, where doctors begin running tests. The initial findings suggest he’s had an epileptic seizure, news that hits Ravi hard. Almost immediately, guilt sets in, with Ravi convincing himself that he’s to blame for something that might now follow him forever.
Struggling to cope, Ravi ends up at Harry’s Barn, hoping a few drinks might quiet his thoughts. Instead, the night spirals when he and Mark end up clashing with a group of men who’ve been hassling Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams). When things threaten to turn nasty, Ravi steps in and saves Mark from getting hurt, earning himself some unexpected respect.
That moment is enough for Mark to finally open up. Impressed by Ravi’s nerve and loyalty, he lets him in on his real mission, revealing he’s trying to track down the informant inside the gang. Suddenly, Ravi finds himself even more tangled up than before, stuck between the police, dangerous criminals and a family crisis he can’t ignore.
Priya is still reeling from Nugget’s scare, and it only gets worse when she learns Ravi has been secretly working with the police and has kept another secret from her. She’s furious, but with Nugget still under observation, there’s no choice but to put their arguments on pause.
That uneasy calm is tested when another call comes in from the hospital, forcing them to come together as a family in this frightening time. With Nugget still being monitored and no clear answers yet, the future feels painfully uncertain.
