Sir David Beckham has been spotted with his hand in a plaster cast while attending the first day of Wimbledon.

The father-of-four was pictured in the Royal box next to ex-England manager Sir Gareth Southgate on Monday, with the pair watching the game between Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Italy’s Fabio Fognini.

Sir David, 50, was also joined at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club by his mum Sandra, who was captured walking into the stands with her son.

Today’s outing marks the his second time Sir David has been seen out and about since a recent surgery on his wrist. Despite his injury, he still looked cheery and happy to be in attendance.

Last week the ex-England captain had to be hospitalised after reportedly being left in ‘excruciating pain.’

He had been suffering from pain induced by a screw embedded in his wrist – which had been put there after he sustained an injury playing for England 22 years ago.

The screw was meant to dissolve over time, however in Sir David’s case it stayed in his wrist and caused him to require emergency surgery.

Since news about his injury were first reported on Friday, he was then captured wearing a sling (with his wrist in a plaster) at Inter Miami’s Club World Cup clash against Paris Saint-Germain in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday.

The 50-year-old club owner appeared upbeat at the game despite his sling – he did still manage to give a thumbs up to a fan and take a selfie with son Romeo.

His wife Victoria Beckham also shared a heartwarming picture of him recovering on a hospital bed, her husband sported a ‘Get well soon Daddy’ friendship bracelet – undoubtedly from his youngest child, Harper Seven.

People close to the England legend said that Sir David has had moments of struggle with his wrist for years, but he reached breaking point last week and had to be admitted to hospital.

Sir David headed straight from the bed to Georgia to support his team – only a few days post surgery.

Reports described the procedure as ‘secret’, with Victoria offering reassuring public updates on her Instagram so fans wouldn’t worry.

Even though Sir David’s time on the pitch came to an end back in 2013, his body has continued to endure endless sporting injuries from his time as an athlete.

Since his retirement, he has had a wrist fracture and also broke his back during his LA Galaxy run.

Doctors say the arm surgery went well and that he could rebound fully – as he has before – to support his club on the sideline .

The sight of Sir David in a sling did little to dampen his spirits, as he flashed smiles to cameras, both in Georgia and at Wimbledon.

There was no sight of eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, joining his father at either event.

It comes after fans noticed that Brooklyn shunned all of his dad’s 50th birthday celebrations a few weeks ago.

Fans are now worried that the secret debacle may stop Brooklyn from attending his younger sister, Harper’s, 14th birthday party on July 10th.
