Formula 1 rolls into Silverstone this weekend for the 2025 British Grand Prix, where Lando Norris can take the lead of the title race in front of his home fans.

Following an impressive win at the action-packed Austrian Grand Prix, Norris has closed the gap to McLaren teammate and championship rival Oscar Piastri.

The Brit has never won his home race and neither has George Russell who needs a victory to overtake Max Verstappen in the standings and keep his own faint championship hopes alive.

Sir Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver in Silverstone’s history but is yet to finish on the podium for Ferrari. With the crowd behind him, this could be his moment?

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 F1 British Grand Prix, including session times, how to watch and the weather forecast for Silverstone.

Lights out for the British Grand Prix is at 3pm on Sunday, July 5.

It’s race 12 out of 24 and Norris will be desperate to take back the lead of the championship at the halfway point of the season.

He trails Piastri by 15 points, so he would need to win and hope his teammate crosses the line sixth or worse to get ahead again.

To the joy and amazement of the home crowd it was Hamilton who claimed victory at Silverstone last year – a record-extending ninth British Grand Prix win.

Having not won a race for nearly three years, the then-Mercedes man overtook polesitter Norris, mastered changeable conditions, got his tyre strategy right and held off a late challenge from Verstappen.

The Red Bull star finished second with McLaren’s Norris completing the podium, while Russell retired with mechanical issues.
