Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to star in upcoming Street Fighter film

WWE superstars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are set to appear in the upcoming video game adaptation of Street Fighter.

The two wrestlers have a history, having competed for the WWE Undisputed titles at WrestleMania 39 and WrestleMania 40. Rhodes won the 2023 Royal Rumble but faced and lost to Reigns at Mania 39. A year later, “The American Nightmare” made history by pinning “The Tribal Chief,” ending Reigns’ four-year championship reign.

Both Reigns and Rhodes have expressed interest in transitioning from WWE to Hollywood, with each already appearing in films.

Reigns made his film debut alongside his cousin, The Rock, in Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, while Rhodes is set to star in the upcoming Naked Gun film later this year.

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to renew rivalry outside WWE

According to Deadline, both wrestlers will lend their voices to characters in the highly anticipated video game adaptation of Street Fighter, which is scheduled for release in 2026, gamerant.com reported.

Roman Reigns will voice Akuma, while Cody Rhodes will portray Guile in this remake of the 1994 classic. The 1994 film featured Jean-Claude Van Damme, Kylie Minogue, Byron Mann and the late Raúl Juliá. Although Street Fighter (1994) was a commercial success, it was heavily criticised by critics and fans for its campy tone and unfaithfulness to the original storyline.

Can Reigns and Rhodes be a perfect fit for SF character?
