REVEALED| Amount Kaizer Chiefs paid for ex-Orlando Pirates man

Kaizer Chiefs recently announced the signing of Siphesihle Ndlovu as their sixth of the window thus far.

Chiefs announced five other signings earlier in the week and have not slowed down after acquiring Ndlovu.

Ndlovu became signing number six for Chiefs

Ndlovu first rose to prominence at Maritzburg United, now Durban City. His impressive form at the club saw him earn a big move to Chiefs’ arch rivals Orlando Pirates. As game time started to dry up for him at the Buccaneers, he joined SuperSport United on an initially loan deal. That deal then became a permanent transfer, seeing him become a stalwart for the Pretoria-outfit.

But now with SuperSport set to be defunct, Ndlovu took the opportunity to quickly jump ship to Chiefs. On Saturday morning, the club officially announced the combative midfielder as their latest addition. With the player seeing his one-year option exercised by Matsatsantsa, the club was able to get a last transfer fee. This before being officially to Siwelele FC.

Soccer-Laduma sources have since revealed that Chiefs paid R5 million to sign Ndlovu from SuperSport.

“The signing of Siphesihle Ndlovu was believed to have been delayed because SuperSport United were not sure of their future but after exercising his one-year option then the club apparently decided to sell him to Chiefs. Because United were being sold they are believed to have settled for R5 million. That was their final transaction as SuperSport United. It was a bargain which Chiefs didn’t want to lose and they agreed to sign him,” said the source.

The addition of Ndlovu could prove crucial by Chiefs with two experienced midfielders exiting the club. This publication reported that Edson Castillo has parted ways with the team and captain Yusuf Maart has been sold abroad.

Fair price? or too much?
