A bomb squad has been deployed to a home in Kent all night forcing the A20 to close.

Emergency services were called to a home next door to the Park Gate Inn pub at around 9pm yesterday and have sectioned off the road.

Counter terrorism officers and members of the British Army’s Explosive Ordnance team are all at the scene along with the National Crime Agency.

A 100-metre police cordon has been established around the home, with forensics teams and armoured police vehicles continuing to secure the area.

Ashford Road between Greenway Court Road and the B2163 Penfold Hill is currently blocked in both directions.
