Squid Game has officially come to an end, and some people are still a bit confused about what happens to the baby after that tense final game.
The ending of season three was a huge whirlwind, with Gi-hun sacrificing himself and the entire Squid Game Island getting blown up.
It then flashed forward six months to reveal Cheol’s fate and what happens to Jun-hee’s baby, so here’s a little recap if you missed it.
Wait, does the baby die in Squid Game season three?
No, she doesn’t die. In the final game, Gi-hun kills himself to save the infant after promising Jun-hee he would take care of her. He places the baby in the middle of the column, still wrapped in his green jacket, and jumps off the edge to his death. The Squid Game island is then blown up, but the baby is saved as she is technically the winner of the games.

The Front Man saves Jun-hee’s baby
Just before the island is destroyed, the Front Man goes to save the baby, who won a massive 4.56 billion won, and looks after her himself for six whole months. Lee Byung-hun, the actor who plays the Front Man, told Tudum his decision to save the baby “highlighted the fact that he has that last remaining piece of humanity deep down somewhere” and showed he had “that last piece of benevolence remaining inside of him”.
The show then picks up six months later
Six months later, we see the Front Man break into his brother Jun-ho’s apartment when he’s not there and put the baby, who is visibly a bit older now, down alongside a bank card containing the 4.56 billion won winnings. So, after Squid Game season three, Jun-ho is now taking care of the baby, although we don’t actually see him with her in the show.
