Paris Saint-Germain star Goncalo Ramos paid tribute to Portugal teammate Diogo Jota after his goal helped thrash Real Madrid in the Fifa Club World Cup semi-finals.

Liverpool star Jota, 28, and his brother Andre, 26,were killed in a car crash in northwestern Spain last week.

The news devastated the football world with Jota’s teammates descending upon his hometown of Gondomar to say goodbye at his funeral on Saturday.

Tributes have continued to pour in this week with Raul Jimenez, a former teammate of Jota at Wolves, copying his trademark goal celebration as Mexico won the Gold Cup.

Diani Silva did likewise after scoring for Portugal against Italy at Euro 2025 only for VAR to rule her goal out moments later.

Ramos, another of Jota’s international teammates, capped a scintillating performance from PSG in New Jersey on Wednesday.

Showing magnificent footwork in front of goal, the 24-year-old fired home his side’s fourth before celebrating with Jota’s trademark move.

Jota, a passionate gamer, first used the celebration in 2021 after he cut short his participation in a FIFA 22 tournament to return to club duty – scoring twice against Southampton after putting his controller down and his boots on.

Less than six weeks after demolishing Inter Milan in the Champions League final, PSG turned in another marvellous performance against one of Europe’s elite sides, making them look distinctively average in the process.

Luis Enrique’s side raced into a 3-0 lead inside 25 minutes, with Fabian Ruiz scoring twice with Ousmane Dembele on the score sheet yet again.

The French champions will meet Chelsea in the final on Sunday.
