We can barely go a day without a Drag Race scandal during All Stars 10, and most of these scandals and backlash seem to have Mistress Isabelle Brooks at the forefront of them. The latest is one of the wildest yet, as the preview for the upcoming episode of All Stars 10 has seen Drag Race villain extraordinaire Mistress Isabelle Brooks hit with backlash after an argument with Aja sees her certainly cross the line in the eyes of many fans. I have always been one of the strongest Mistress Isabelle Brooks defenders because I think she’s hilarious and makes great Drag Race TV, but even I can’t defend this All Stars 10 backlash.
Here’s what’s happened, and it’s dramatic.
Mistress crossed a line
The tension is the Werkroom is INTENSE. Was not expecting Aja and Mistress to go back and forth like that- #AllStars10 pic.twitter.com/By5J3FYgXK

In the preview for tomorrow’s episode, Aja opens up about how she was feeling regarding the competition and how her mental health was doing. In that moment, Mistress started to laugh and Aja calls it out and says “what’s so funny?”
Mistress says “Girl, keep talking I’m listening.” Aja begins to talk again which is when the line is crossed, and Mistress moves Aja’s hair out of the way and physically does a taunting laugh right in her face. The whole group are taken aback. Aja takes a moment and then handles the situation amazingly, by saying that Mistress is “doing too much”. Mistress responds “If I want to laugh, I’ll laugh.”
The two go back and forth, with Aja calmly calling out Mistress’ behaviour. It’s one of the first times I think Mistress really gets caught up in her quest for being a drama instigator and comes across in a way that isn’t light hearted or fun. It’s disrespectful to Aja, who never rises to it despite the fact she really has every justification in going the hell off.
A lot of viewers are calling Mistress out for saying “I don’t think I’ll take life advice from anyone in your position”, especially in regards to Aja being transparent about her personal struggles.
I’m sorry I love Mistress but saying “I don’t think ill take life advice from someone in your position” knowing what Aja’s been through as a Trans Women of color is disgusting and had nothing to do with the competition at all #Allstars10 #DragRace https://t.co/Rpeclrc90O pic.twitter.com/HJpq9BwLDW

Aja has responded
Now now while Mistress indeed deserved to get the shit slapped out of her, there was no way I was about to get disqualified for slapping my defiant niece on television

Aja then tweeted “Now while Mistress indeed deserved to get the sh*t slapped out of her, there was no way I was about to get disqualified for slapping my defiant niece on television.”
Mistress has responded in Mistress fashion
Yall win… I think it’s time to quit drag. What should I do? Can yall see me being a mechanic or something … idk

Mistress has responded saying she’s quitting drag – obviously in jest. She’s also responded to Mrs Kasha Davis who called out the behaviour in a social media comment.

Mrs Kasha Davis said she “would not tolerate anyone laughing in her face like that” – to which Mistress replied “and what would you have done about it my love?”
It’s the first time where Mistress Isabelle Brooks is facing Drag Race backlash that no longer feels petty – and will be fascinating to see how it turns out tomorrow when the episode drops.
