Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) have been growing close in recent weeks, though in tonight’s Coronation Street episode Lauren began to grow suspicious of Aadi’s kindness and generosity.
During a conversation with Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), Lauren revealed that Aadi was going to help her take a new sofa up to her flat.
However, when Shona pointed out how close they suddenly were, Lauren questioned whether she thought Aadi had ulterior motives.
Making light of the insinuation, Shona pointed out that all boys his age want something, though this put a bad taste in Lauren’s mouth.
Things only got worse when she headed to meet Aadi and he presented her with a housewarming gift in the form of an air fryer.
She was quick to insist that she couldn’t accept it as it was too much, but Aadi was adamant.
Trying to be kind, he offered her the chance to ‘repay him’ by cooking him something with it, though this set off alarm bells for Lauren, who decided she didn’t need his help after all.
It is no wonder she is suspicious of his motives after her past experiences with men, but soon she would find that she was wrong about Aadi.
When Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) later found herself with a flat tire, Aadi wasted no time in offering to help her fix it, asking for nothing in return.
Having witnessed the exchange, it was clear that Aadi’s actions changed Lauren’s mind, as she realised that he wasn’t out for what he could get, he just genuinely wanted to help her.
Worried that she had blown things with him, Lauren confided in Shona that she had been avoiding him because of what she’d implied about him only wanting to sleep with her.
Shona was quick to set her straight, pointing out that if she likes him then she should stop avoiding him and see where things went.
Could Aadi and Lauren have a bright future ahead of them?
