NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WJBF) – Man, this is sweet. Because it’s…well you say it…
“Today is National Donut Day,” said Callie Arbaugh.
How excited are you?
“Really excited,” she said.
“I love donuts so it’s the best day of the year,” said Fey Negron.
National Donut Day had them lining up at En Donuts in North Augusta, and these were passing the experts taste test.
“I know donuts I’m a specialist,” said Elizabeth Howell.
“These are pretty good,”
“These are the best,” she said.
All the best kind of donuts and they were flying off the shelves.
“Never been here before, so I thought I would try a little bit of everything, The red velvet and the blueberry fritter,” said Fey.
“The glazed donuts, chocolate covered, blueberry fritter and cinnamon roll,” said Melissa Mullis.
In our society, we don’t always agree on stuff but most people do agree: donuts are awesome.
“I just love the taste, especially after coming here. It’s a great taste,” said Joesph Sapp.
“You going to share with me?”
“I only got one today,” he said with a laugh.
Now you might be thinking, ‘George, you look like you know your way around a donut shop.’ That’s true. ‘Do you have a favorite?’ I do, this one right here: Maple Bacon. Auuuugg…bacon.
For years the first Friday in June has been National Donut Day.
“Do you need National Donut Day to buy a donut?”
“Absolutely,” Callie said with a laugh.
