There’s nothing more eventful than a Hollyoaks wedding, which is something that Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) and John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) are about to find out for themselves next week.
The grooms-to-be are set to tie the knot in what promises to be an explosive week for the Channel 4 soap, with Jez’s deadly antics set to cause quite a stir.
The gardener, as viewers know, is a dastardly serial killer who has been committing murderous acts for decades.
Since his arrival in the village a year ago (two years ago in the show’s universe), he’s claimed the lives of Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith), Abe Fielding (Tyler Conti) and social worker Ian.
He’s also murdered Dennis Savage (Joe Tracini), who was last seen on screens in 2018.
Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) has been investigating Dennis’ murder for months and next week tragedy strikes when the character’s body is found.
The undercover policeman receives the update just seconds after a confrontation with Liberty (Jessamy Stoddart), who has been having an affair with Jez.
Dodger, having been given reason to suspect such a thing, urges Lib to come clean about the questionable romance when he gets a phone call to confirm Dennis’ remains have been uncovered.
Reeling, Liberty shares the tragic update with Sienna (Anna Passey) and Martha (Sherrie Hewson).

John Paul, meanwhile, grows suspicious of Jez’s commitment to him and tells his fiancé that he’s not sure he loves him. Enraged, Jez smashes a mirror amid a violent outburst.
As the day of the wedding arrives, Jez gets set to tie up all of his loose ends. No matter the cost. John Paul, however, is still full of doubts, with his family offering him support.

Determined to win him back, Jez urges JP to give him once more shot. And as the wedding guests gather, the murderer is delighted to see John Paul at the altar.
The question is: with secrets galore, will the vows be exchanged?
That remains to be seen but what I can tell you is that, the fallout of the wedding results in emotions running high – and danger closes in fast.
Later, at the allotment, Libery visits Jez. But is their love affair at an end?
Elsewhere in the village…
Tony meets with Mercedes ahead of The Dog re-opening, sharing his hopes of rebuilding his family as he and Diane move back into the pub.
Armed with newfound confidence, Tony asks Diane to give them another shot. With risks involved and the children to think about, Di reckons they should take things slow.
Later in the week, a vendetta leads to Tony making a life-changing detour. Jack, meanwhile, is delighted to be asked back behind the bar.
