Kaizer Chiefs news: Lost relationship and new midfielder

It’s fair to say Kaizer Chiefs have lost a reliable recruitment relationship following the abrupt sale of SuperSport United to the newly formed Siwelele FC.

The now-defunct SuperSport United had become a trusted talent pipeline for Kaizer Chiefs, supplying three signings in just two years.

While it was a free transfer, the relationship came to life in 2023 with the arrival of Botswana international Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, who joined Amakhosi that year. The centre-back quickly established himself as a mainstay in Amakhosi’s defence before he was sold to Al-Ittihad in Libya last term.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfield ace, Willard Katsande, believes the Betway Premiership giants have signed a gem of a midfielder in Siphesihle Ndlovu.

Kaizer Chiefs bolstered their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, adding Ethan Chislett, Flavio Silva, Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako, Nkanyiso Shinga, and, notably, Siphesihle Ndlovu, signed from the now-defunct SuperSport United.

According to Katsande, Ndlovu is the standout deal. As a former captain and midfield enforcer at Amakhosi, Katsande’s opinion carries weight. His endorsement of Ndlovu speaks volumes about the club’s recent activities in the transfer market.
