Your Wednesday Evening Update:
Hey there! I am back from my vacation and got upgraded to fiancé while I was out in California! The weather was SO mild, it felt like a chilly fall day all weekend long!
Sweltering Heat in the CSRA
Temperatures here though are hot and humid! We are still expecting the next couple of days to reach heat indices above 100°, thanks to the tropics. This muggy weather we’ve been seeing is par for the course in July, but the Gulf’s influence is making it feel extra sticky this week. A low-pressure system is pulling warm, moist air into our area, making it feel extra muggy.
Rain Chances This Week
That moisture also means a chance for stray showers or storms over the next few days. Tuesday’s rain chance jumps to 50%, so keep an umbrella handy, especially in the afternoon or evening. A pop-up shower could cool things off briefly, but don’t count on it lasting long!
Hot Weekend Ahead
By Saturday and Sunday, expect highs in the upper 90s to low 100s with mostly dry conditions. Next week, temperatures across the Southeast are forecasted to stay above average, so this heat isn’t going anywhere soon.
Stay Safe: Stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak heat, and check on elderly neighbors.
