People seem to think that Austin Butler’s scene-stealing bulge was shrunk for the new teaser of Caught Stealing, though it’s not clear exactly why.
Starring Austin Butler, Regina King, Zoë Kravitz, Matt Smith, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, and even Bad Bunny, Caught Stealing is an upcoming American crime film directed by The Whale’s Darren Aronofsky.
“When his punk-rock neighbour asks him to take care of his cat for a few days, New York City bartender Hank Thompson suddenly finds himself caught in the middle of a motley crew of threatening gangsters who all want a piece of him,” the description reads.
The film is set to premiere on August 29, but it’s already creating a humdrum on Twitter because of Austin Butler’s bulge.
Okay, so here’s why people think Austin Butler’s bulge was edited
Right, so when Sony Pictures released the trailer for Caught Stealing last month, there was a blink and you’ll miss it moment between Austin Butler’s character Hank and Zoë Kravitz’s Yvonne. She was crawling across the bed to him in red lingerie, and he was standing at the end of the bed in grey underwear – bulge included, present and accounted for.
When another teaser was released for the film this week, the very thirsty folks over on Twitter noticed one glaring difference: Someone had stolen Austin Butler’s penis!
Twitter user @MENin4K claimed to have spotted the change first, writing on the platform: “Not them editing out Austin Butler’s bulge in the new caught stealing snippet… BOOOOO!!!”
The images were then reshared by numerous pop culture accounts, including Buzzing Pop, who asked a friend to turn it into high definition. Doing the lord’s work, truly.
Shocker, people aren’t thrilled by Austin’s package getting reduced, with one person writing on Twitter: “Why did they shrink it… I don’t get action in real life, so I made it a hobby to spot bulges in shows and movies. This just made me sad.”

“Feel bad for the people of the Republic of Prudovia or whoever the lame edit was for, but I know here in the land of the free we’ll be seeing the full monty and then some. (hint: the hard R rating is EARNED – several times),” another wrote.
Other people argued that it wasn’t exactly an eye-draw anyway, as one person said: “Not even like he’s got some crazy massive bulge? Like he’s a man and has a package… He’s not a Ken doll.”
One person even said it was a form of blasphemy to edit the bulge, calling it “heavenly.”

Editing bulges is nothing new in the world of TV and film, or have we forgotten when the folks at Disney edited Tom Hiddleston’s? It went from Thor’s hammer to nonexistent, way worse than any of the crimes Thanos committed.
Anyways, justice for Austin Butler’s bulge!
