Emmerdale’s Cain vows to kill Nate’s killer as John reels

Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) funeral in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale left Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) making an important statement to his family.

Yesterday, Cain confronted Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) again and told her that the Dingles will be at the funeral tomorrow, whether she likes it or not.

The showdown between the Dingles and the rest of Nate’s relatives featured the family walking through Main Street with Sam Dingle (James Hooton) banging a drum.

Outside the church, Cain and Tracy began arguing again but it was stopped by John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). He wanted Cain and Tracy to call a truce, but it was clear he also wanted them to stop because his guilt was becoming overwhelming.

John had to completely ignore his guilt again a moment later, as Tracy asked him to read her eulogy. With DS Walsh present and it now village gossip that Tracy was entitled to Nate’s life insurance, she feared reading the eulogy would fuel the theory that she killed Nate for cash.

John stood up but with eyes on him, the pressure was on.

Instead of reading Tracy’s speech, he spoke from the heart himself, noting that Nate was a good man, and wouldn’t want Tracy and Cain constantly fighting.

At the wake, as Nate’s family gathered in the pub, Cain stayed at the graveside for a moment to himself. He was then joined by Tracy, who admitted in an emotional conversation that she knows Cain didn’t kill Nate.

And Cain then admitted the same – he knows Tracy didn’t murder Nate either.

It was a huge moment for the two characters, who hugged to comfort each other over the grief.

After finding some common ground, Tracy and Cain returned to the pub with the conclusion that they can figure out who killed Nate, if they both work together.

As residents started to depart the pub, John and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) discovered Cain and Tracy’s new plan.

Cain concluded that he may have let Nate down while he was alive, but he’s not going to do the same thing anymore. He said that he will find who murdered Nate and when he does, he’ll kill them.

And suffice to say John was very afraid.
