Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) may only have been on Coronation Street for a short time, but he has already made quite the impact.
However, his time on the cobbles has come to an end, the actor confirmed on social media.
Since moving into Mawdsley Street earlier this year, Mick has stalked Chesney Brown (Sam Aston), bullied Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) and murdered Craig Tinker (Colson Smith).
Following the brutal killing, he took Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) hostage before finally being apprehended by police.
Earlier this week, Mick broke out of prison and planned to go on the run with his family, though his plan went awry and he was eventually caught after stabbing Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) in the leg.
In the next episode, Mick made a call to son Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) from prison, which sparked posts on Twitter/X from fans questioning if this was Mick’s final scene.

‘Affirmative,’ actor Joe replied to one post, adding: ‘loved my time on the cobbles!’
In another post, he thanked a fan, before writing: ‘It has been a total pleasure. Over and out from Mick!’
Mick’s exit was announced earlier this year, alongside on-screen wife Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty).
In April, Coronation Street’s publicity team told Metro: ‘This is not a shock exit or an early exit. Mick and Lou were brought into the show to cause chaos on the cobbles in the build-up to a major storyline in the summer and they are already making their presence felt.

‘Joe and Farrell were contracted for a specific length of time, some characters come in for a long time and some like Mick and Lou are brought to pass through and leave a trail of destruction behind them.
‘Both actors are still filming with the show and will be on screen until the summer.’
Actress Farrel Hegarty previously spoke out about her upcoming exit, having filmed her final scenes and jetted off to Australia, admitting that it was ‘really sad’ to say goodbye to the cobbles.
