Brooklyn Beckham’s latest cooking tutorial once again has people scratching their heads.
Over the years the 26-year-old eldest son of star footballer David Beckham and former Spice Girl Victoria has pursued a career as a footballer, done modelling, worked as a photographer and become a chef.
Although his string of careers has seen many poke fun at him – including his own family at times – Brooklyn has previously said he ‘loves cooking because it takes my mind off anything that’s happening’.
However, in the past he’s been called out for missing basic hygiene measures while preparing meals, burning pizza and sharing videos for basic recipes including burgers and sandwiches.
Now his latest cooking video has left some people gagging after Brooklyn showed himself filling up a pot with water from the ocean while leaning off the side of a luxury yacht.
On Monday night Brooklyn shared a video captioned ‘tomato pasta’ to his 16.2million followers, also tagging his hot sauce line’s official business account.
‘Today I am going to make some tomato pasta,’ he said.
‘Of course we get some pasta water,’ he added, filming himself scooping up the salty ocean water.
He was then shown cooking up the dish in the commercial kitchen aboard the yacht before presenting the final result.
Although some pointed out his hack for using salt water before boiling the pasta wasn’t too crazy – others saw it as a strange flex.
‘Wait, why the ocean water?,’ one person questioned.
‘Strange source of water,’ someone else commented.
‘Using water where boats run…hmm petrol?’ another pointed out.
In 2023 Brooklyn spoke about his admiration of chefs, explaining: ‘One of the many things I like about chefs is they are so artistic, they are so hardworking, and it’s always every day, every minute of every hour trying to master their craft.’
He also previously told Variety he’d love to open a pub in Los Angeles one day.
‘I would love to have my own pub. I would love to have my own sauces, knives, pots and pans,’ he said.
‘Not like a chef – I’m always going to be learning about cooking.’
Brooklyn reportedly has a net worth of $10million (£7.4million), while his billionaire heiress wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, 30, who is also an actress, has a reported net worth of $50million (£37 million).
He once admitted his wife ‘couldn’t cook to save her life’.
For months the couple have also been at the centre of rumours of a rift within the Beckham family.
It was most recently reported that Brooklyn no longer followed his brothers Cruz and Romeo on social media, with the latter two having also unfollowed Nicola.
Rumours of a family fallout started when Brooklyn and Nicola married in 2022, with reports of tension between her and Victoria, 51, however talk died down when the pair put on a united front at public events.
However, eyebrows were raised once more when Brooklyn and Nicola failed to make an appearance at David’s 50th birthday bash and failed to send his dad a birthday message on social media as usual.
