Kaizer Chiefs have turned their attention to Central Africa in their ongoing quest to bolster their strike force ahead of the 2025/2026 season, with Cameroonian hitman Ravel Djoumekou now under serious consideration.
Chiefs step up their striker search
Amakhosi continue to chase firepower up front, and a reliable source close to the club has revealed that Djoumekou, a 25-year-old striker currently leading the line for FC Saint Eloi Lupopo in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been formally offered to the club.
“He is an experienced striker who could really help Chiefs at this stage,” the source confirmed. “He has been offered to Chiefs in their quest to sign a striker and now it’s up to Chiefs’ scouts and analysts to assess him and make a decision after that. But if they make their decision to sign him, then he would be available.”
Scouts and analysts to make the final call
The club’s recruitment team has already received Djoumekou’s profile and is reportedly reviewing his performances. The Cameroonian has impressed in DR Congo with his strength, positioning, and eye for goal, traits that could offer Chiefs the clinical edge they’ve lacked in recent seasons.
Transfer window still wide open
While Chiefs have already landed several new faces during this window. Insiders insist the club’s transfer activity remains far from over. The technical team continues to assess various players. As they look to build a squad capable of challenging for silverware in the upcoming campaign.
Kaizer Chiefs are clearly not content with half-measures. With the new season approaching fast, fans can expect more movement. And potentially a new frontman to lead the charge.
