WWE legend Hulk Hogan lived a tumultuous life fraught with infidelity and family fallouts.
The former world champion, who has died at the age of 71, was one of the biggest names in wrestling, recently working as a WWE brand ambassador.
But over the years, Hogan – real name Terry Bollea – found himself at the centre of a number of controversies, including leaked audio of a racist rant which he later called ‘unacceptable’ and a year-long legal feud over a sex tape that led to a $31 million settlement.
During his life he also married three different women and appeared on his own reality TV series called Hogan Knows Best.
The WWE hall of famer married his first wife, Linda Hogan, in 1983, who he had two children with: daughter Brooke and son Nick.
Together, the family appeared on the VH1 reality series Hogan Knows Best which aired from 2005 until 2007 for four seasons.
Eventually, the pair split in July 2009, with Linda claiming they ‘got torn apart’ despite her still saying she ‘loves him’ and ‘he’s the father of my children’.
Years later, Linda claimed in March 2025 that the retired wrestler is a ‘sex addict’ and ‘liar’ who was estranged from his daughter Brooke, People reported.
She told E! News: ‘It’s been 15, however long years since I left Hulk Hogan, and my family is the worst mess.’
Following his marriage with Linda, Hogan went on to marry Jennifer McDaniel in December 2010 at their home in Clearwater, Florida.
They were married for almost 11 years before Hogan filed for divorce in October 2021, with it being finalised in February the following year.
Two years later he went on to wed his third wife, Sky Daily, who was a yoga instructor and mother of three.
In the wake of Hogan’s death, several former wrestlers and Hollywood stars have led tributes honouring him, including Donald Trump, Triple H, John Cena and Sylvester Stallone.
A statement from the WWE also said: ‘WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away.
‘One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s.
‘WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.’
Hogan’s family confirmed the news of his death to Us Weekly, with the Clearwater Police Department later providing more details.
‘Just before 10 AM, Clearwater Police Department responded to a house in the 1000 block of El Dorado Avenue for a medical related call,’ Major Nate Burnside said. ‘It was discovered at that time that Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan, was experiencing a serious medical related issue.
‘Personnel provided medical treatment at that time and transported Mr. Bollea to Morton Plant Hospital, where he died at 11:17 AM. The Clearwater Police Department is conducting a medical investigation, which is standard in these types of cases. There are no signs of foul play or suspicious activity related to this call for service at this time.’
Burnside said records wouldn’t be released today asked people to respect the privacy of Hogan’s family. Operators stated the medical call was regarding a ‘cardiac arrest’. His cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
