UPDATE, July 27th, 11:52am – Investigators say they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash that killed Summer Poole.
They tell NewsChannel 6 that an arrest was made at the scene Saturday night.
The suspect’s name has not been released.

UPDATE – We now know the identity of the victim in the crash. 28-year-old Summer Poole of New Ellenton died in a crash between a sedan and her motorcycle. The Aiken County Coroner tells us she will be autopsied in Newberry.

AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF)- One person is dead after a crash in Aiken County. The Aiken Department of Public Safety and the Aiken County Coroner confirmed that they responded to the scene of an accident with injuries.
It happened around 6:10 pm at the intersection of Whiskey Road and Chukker Creek Road in Aiken. The crash involved a sedan and a motorcycle. The motorcycle driver has died from their injuries.
Traffic was redirected while law enforcement was on the scene, but the ADPS says the roads are now back open.
No word yet on what caused the accident. The coroner said the victim will be identified once next of kin is notified.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
